Things are moving at La Joliette! It's none other than the famous port hall of J1 that will undergo a complete transformation. So you can prepare to welcome it, we're revealing the extravagant project that will come to life in the heart of our city of Marseille!
THE FUTURE J1
The Port of Marseille launched a call for projects in June 2017 to redevelop the iconic industrial site of J1. After deliberation by a professional jury, the winning project was awarded to Adim Immobilier Provence, Vinci Construction France in association with the Caisse des Dépôts group and the architecture firm Reichen & Robert. The project is named 'La Passerelle' and will be completed by 2023.
THE PROGRAM
'La Passerelle' will be organized into 5 main areas : Firstly, the Port Lab' space, dedicated to work and coworking. Then, Marseille-les-bains, a relaxation and sports area with a spa and pool. Upstairs, 'Une Nuit au J1' space will feature a large restaurant for gastronomy enthusiasts, and a Marriott hotel with 130 rooms under the J1's roof. Adding to this will be a 'J1 Fun and Arty' space dedicated to new technologies and virtual reality: expect performances and digital shows, perfect for our geeks! Prepare for J1 to become a multifunctional and playful hotspot appealing to all kinds of audiences, from Marseille and beyond.
