The famous song from our favorite Marseille group, "Je danse le MIA," is going to have its own film. According to the magazine Le Film Français, a feature film is in development, and the entire story will be based on the famous IAM track "Je danse le MIA." Yes, you heard it right!
On screen, actor Rayane Bensetti will portray a young Marseillais from the 80s who is propelled into present-day Marseille.
« HEY DJ, PLAY SOME FUNK SO I CAN DANCE TO MIA»
The goal of the film is to showcase the contrast between funk music, the reigning sound of Marseille's nightlife in the 80s and a central theme in IAM's music, and the rap music that can be found in our Phocaean City today. We can think of artists like JuL, Naps, or Soprano, for example.
The film will be directed by none other than Michael Youn and Matt Alexander, with supervision from Fabien Fragione, Akhenaton's brother.
Currently, we don't have any further information regarding the filming or release dates! But we'll keep you updated as soon as possible! We hope the film will be as successful as the song. We can't wait!
