The Marseilleveyre calanque is the first major calanque you will encounter from Les Goudes and Callelongue. It is part of the Marseilleveyre massif, which extends into the Calanques National Park, between Marseille and Cassis.

CALANQUE DE MARSEILLEVEYRE, A HIDDEN GEM
The calanque is open and very sunny. It is composed of a beach of pebbles and sand, a few fishermen's huts, and notably a restaurant, "Chez le Belge." Here, there is no running water or electricity, and no toilets in the restaurant! Supplies are delivered by sea only because there is no road access. Indeed, the Calanque de Marseilleveyre is only accessible by boat or on foot, which adds to its charm and makes it a true hidden gem.
Marseilleveyre is said to mean "see Marseille" in Provençal, because from the summit of the Marseilleveyre massif which peaks at 432 meters, one of the most beautiful and impressive observation sites of Marseille and its region can be found. Indeed, this site covers a radius of 40 km! During your hike, you can observe the Cap Canaille, the island of Jarre, or even the Riou archipelago.
HOW TO GET TO CALANQUE DE MARSEILLEVEYRE?
To reach this little piece of paradise on foot, you will need to start from the port of Callelongue and follow the GR98 marked trail for 45 minutes along the seashore. Many hiking trails also start from the calanque and lead to the Col du Galibié, the Rocher St Michel, or the Pas de la Demi-Lune. The calanque is surrounded by lush green vegetation and more arid areas before leading you to the beach, where the turquoise water will make you want to swim. Feel free to go kayaking, paddleboarding, or diving, as the place is perfect for these activities! This hike will guarantee you a change of scenery and breathtaking views!
