Espace Julien: A place of entertainment for all generations

The Espace Julien is a cultural center located in the city of Marseille in the 6th arrondissement. Open since 1984, this performance venue brings together all styles of music, all audiences, amateur or professional artists, as well as cultural groups.

Espace Julien was created on the Cours Julien, which is one of the one hundred eleven neighborhoods of Marseille. In 1860, this Cours Julien was lined with warehouses for fruits and vegetables. As for the location of the current performance venue, there was a Scottish Saint John Masonic lodge. It wasn't until the 1970s that all fruit and vegetable activities were consolidated on a single site to move towards a new activity, particularly culture and theater. This is how Espace Julien was born in 1984, with two distinct purposes, namely, social and musical.

In a hall that can accommodate 600 seated or 1000 standing guests, Espace Julien offers its audience a variety of events including concerts, comedies, festivals, or even cinema. Since its creation, Espace Julien has already organized more than 4,200 concerts. Thanks to these programs, people of all generations have the opportunity to enjoy pleasant moments of entertainment and cultural exchange.
