Stroll Vallon des Auffes - Corniche

Are you planning a weekend in Marseille? You can't visit Marseille without seeing the Corniche! Take a stroll in the heart of the 7th arrondissement of the Phocaean city and enjoy the charming little streets that have retained their old-world charm.

The Corniche Kennedy
Along the Corniche Kennedy, starting from the Plage des Catalans, it will lead you to the Prado. The Marseille Corniche owes its name in homage to the recently assassinated President of the United States. Did you know that along the corniche lies the longest bench in the world? Its 3km length will give you plenty of space to find a spot and enjoy the magnificent view of the Frioul Islands. Along the Corniche JFK, you will find numerous restaurants with equally beautiful views.
THE PROPHET'S BEACH
Bring a picnic to relax on the Prophet's Beach. It is one of Marseille's oldest beaches. Preferably visit it in the late afternoon to avoid crowds in the summer season and also to witness a breathtaking sunset.
THE VALLON DES AUFFRES

It's a small fishing port that has managed to remain traditional. The Vallon des Auffres houses restaurants, like the famous Chez Fonfon, in a beautiful and tranquil setting. You can access it from the Corniche Kennedy, between Plage des Catalans and Anse de Malmousque. You can't miss this little gem!
THE PRADO BEACHES
At the end of the Corniche are the Prado beaches. Perfect places to relax, have a picnic, or enjoy the beachside restaurants, which are very pleasant in any season!
THE 7TH DISTRICT OF MARSEILLE
Good walking shoes are essential for hiking up the Montée des Croquants or the Chemin du Roucas Blanc. The neighborhood is very pleasant for strolling in Marseille. For the more motivated, you can climb to the top of the hill and admire the Marseille landscape from Notre Dame de la Garde.
Did you enjoy this walk and want more? Why not rent a boat and visit the Calanques of Marseille and Cassis? You can also opt for a cruise in the Calanques.
