ROUCAS BLANC : RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE 7TH DISTRICT OF MARSEILLE

Literally translated as "the white rock," the Roucas Blanc neighborhood owes its name to the rock on which it was built. Bordered by the Roucas Blanc path, it extends from the Endoume district to the Corniche. Here, you'll find the former secondary homes of Marseille's wealthy families, giving the neighborhood a very bourgeois character. Its fame dates back to the 19th century when the public utility of its hot spring was recognized. A thermal establishment was established, complete with treatment areas, pools, and freshwater swimming pools. Restaurants with panoramic terraces and luxury hotels have also settled in Roucas Blanc. Today, you'll find the famous Sofitel Palm-Beach hotel which has preserved the hot spring that made the neighborhood famous.
