Beach of La Couronne in Martigues
Beach Resort of the Blue Coast attached to the municipality of Martigues, La Couronne is highly appreciated for its beaches. The fine sandy beaches are among the "pearls of the Blue Coast". Easily accessible, equipped, and secured, they are ideal for families. A naturist beach is reserved for members of the French Naturism Federation.
Crystal clear, the bathing waters have been awarded the Blue Flag for several years.
THE BEACHES OF LA COURONNE
There are four beaches in La Couronne: Verdon, La Couronne Vieille beach, Saulce beach, and Sainte Croix beach. These are fine sandy beaches, highly prized by locals and tourists alike, and literally crowded during the summer.
Verdon Beach
Located between La Couronne and Carro, it is considered the most beautiful beach in the Martigues area. It is also the largest on the Blue Coast with over 24,000 m2. In the Verdon cove, this 350-meter sandy beach is a meeting place for families. Everything has been planned to accommodate them, starting with parking, a large (albeit paid) parking lot is available. On-site, you will find everything you need for your comfort on the beaches. Restaurants, lawns, beach volleyball courts… Note that the beach is supervised throughout the summer season and has access for people with reduced mobility.
La Couronne Vieille Beach
Located right next to the La Couronne lighthouse, in a small, easily accessible cove that is also sheltered from the winds. Composed of sand and pebbles over 50 meters long, its location in a discreet cove means it is mainly frequented by locals.
Saulce Beach
A small beach of 2500 m2 of fine sand, Saulce beach has the particularity of being close to local campsites. This makes it a very popular spot for tourists during vacations. This beach has all the amenities, bathing supervision in summer, first aid station, public showers, and immediate proximity to catering establishments.
Sainte Croix Beach
