ensues la redonne

Typical village of the Blue Coast, Ensuès la Redonne is divided into three main areas: the center of Ensuès, which is set back from the sea, La Redonne and its port, and the ports of Méjean. From the parking lot of Ensuès, descend the very steep road that leads to the creek below. There is also a well-sheltered beach.

Ensuès-la-Redonne, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the heart of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is a French commune that charms with its authenticity and preserved beauty. This coastal town, an integral part of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, is about 18 km from Marseille, offering a picturesque living environment with a population of 5,768 inhabitants in 2021.

The geography of Ensuès-la-Redonne is marked by its privileged location on the Blue Coast, famous for its spectacular creeks such as the Redonne creek and the Figuières creek. Historically, Ensuès-la-Redonne has evolved from simple hamlets of shepherds and fishermen to an autonomous municipality since 1933, with an economy once centered on fishing and agriculture, particularly olive and grape cultivation. Today, it attracts visitors both for its cultural heritage and for its festive activities such as the Saint-Maur festival in January, thus enriching its tourist attractiveness.

The 3 calanques of Ensuès la Redonne

The calanque des athénors

It is located between the port and the Calanque de Figuières. It is a famous pebble beach for its clear and very pure water. To access it: park at the Redonne port and then take the path that goes up on the right.

Calanque du grand méjean

It is located two kilometers east of la Redonne. Visitors are greeted by a typical small port, as well as a summer restaurant. The rocks are perfect for sunbathing, and stairs invite you to descend into the sea.

To get there from Ensuès la Redonne, head towards la Redonne and follow the signs for Méjean. Then follow the railway line for just under two kilometers. Park in the Calanque's parking lot.

Adjacent to the Calanque du Grand Méjean, the site does not offer a beach but rather rocks and a small port. Divers particularly appreciate the richness of the seabed of the Petit Méjean beach. Sea urchins are also a specialty.

Erevine

This Calanque is considered one of the most beautiful creeks on the Blue Coast. The viewpoint is sublime. To get there, you can start from the port of Grand Méjean or from Niolon. It takes about an hour's walk. Beware, some passages can be "sporty".
