Prophet's Beach

On the Corniche Kennedy, below the road, is the Prophète Beach, one of the oldest beaches in Marseille and also one of the most popular. Literally stormed in the summer, it delights both young and old alike.
PROPHETE BEACH

The sea slope is very gentle, so you can walk quite far out, which children love. There's a Beach Volleyball court for the more daring, and the site has all the amenities: lifeguard station, showers, snacks, and refreshment stands.
This place is highly popular among families and regulars in the morning, before turning into a meeting spot for all Marseille locals in the afternoon and evening.
Picnics and drinks: in the evening, young people come from all over the city and organize moonlit parties to the sound of djembes that never fail to resonate on summer evenings. As a result, the beach can be littered with many cigarette butts, which can be a bit off-putting.
It's not the cleanest beach in Marseille, nor is it where you go to find turquoise water. You come to Prophète for the friendliness, for days and evenings with friends, to play a bit of volleyball before diving into contemplation of the beautiful Marseillaises coming from all corners of the city. It's the beach of summer, for its days as well as its nights.
