THE HISTORY OF PARC CHANOT

Initially, Parc Chanot was used by the military during World War I for maneuvers. Then, very quickly, the place was used to host multiple exhibitions, especially on the theme of colonies in the early 1900s. It also hosted attractions for a short period. It is named after the lawyer Amable Jean-Baptiste Chanot, who served as the mayor of Marseille three times in the early twentieth century.

The Parc Chanot venue covers 60,000 square meters of covered space and esplanade. Located in the heart of the city of Marseille, access is very well served by transport. Also hosted at this exhibition park is the Japan Expo Sud, an annual exhibition on the theme of Japan for the past ten years. The venue also hosts numerous galas and festivals.
